  18. Limited Warranty

  20. If you bought this computer program copy (the "Software") at
  21. one of our authorized outlets, then you own it, just as you
  22. own a book or compact disc when you pay for it.  It's yours
  23. to use, or sell to someone else If you get tired of it.
  24.  
  25. As the owner of an authorized Software copy, you have
  26. certain rights under U.S. copyright law.  You may:
  27.  
  28.   - install and use the Software on a single computer.
  29.  
  30.   - sell this copy of the Software to someone else, provided
  31.     you remove it from your own computer.
  32.  
  33.   - make backup copies of the Software for your own use, in
  34.     case your master copy is damaged or destroyed.
  35.  
  36. Copying or reselling this software for any other reason or
  37. by any other means is a violation of U.S. copyright law.  Do
  38. not be fooled by our sensible price.  This is not shareware
  39. nor is it public domain software.

  42. rights to copy it, modify it, and distribute it to others.

  44. 1. What the Warranty Covers

  46.    Disks:

  48.       Personal Companion CD, a division of Sofsource, Inc.,
  49.       warrants that the physical disk(s) containing the
  50.       Software are free from physical defects in materials
  51.       and workmanship for the period stated below.  If these
  52.       materials were damaged before delivery, we may
  53.       replace them or refund your money at our sole option.

  57.       Personal Companion CD warrants that the disk(s)
  58.       contained in this package contain one complete copy
  59.       of the Software described on the package.  If any
  60.       such Software is not contained on any disk(s) in this
  61.       package, we may replace the disk(s) or refund
  62.       your money at our sole option.

  64. 2. Period of Coverage:
  65.  
  66.    All warranties are good for thirty (30) days after the
  67.    date you purchase this Software copy.  This means If
  68.    you require warranty service, you must deliver the
  69.    product back to us within the thirty (30) day
  70.    warranty period.

  72. 3. What We Do to Correct Problems:

  74.    Send back all materials you believe are defective,
  75.    together with proof of purchase and a written
  76.    description of the defect. At our option, we will
  77.    either replace the defective disk(s) or manual(s),
  78.    or give you a full refund of the purchase price.
  79.    We may keep all replaced items, and all items for
  80.    which we give you a refund.  Or, feel free to call
  81.    the Technical Support Hot Line listed on the
  82.    outside of the box.

  93. 5. Warranty and Liability Limitations:

  95.    Except for the above, all disks, software and
  96.    accompanying written materials are provided "as is"
  97.    without warranty of any kind.  Any and all implied
  98.    warranties, including but not limited to any implied
  99.    warranties of merchantability or fitness for a
  100.    particular purpose, are limited to the thirty (30) day
  101.    express warranty period stated above.

  103.    Some states do not allow limitations on how long an
  104.    implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not
  105.    apply to you.

  107.    Personal Companion CD shall not be liable for any consequential,
  108.    special or punitive damages arising out of use or inability to
  109.    use this product.  Some states do not allow the exclusion or
  110.    limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above
  111.    limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
